Rice Beans and Sausage Dish


1 pkg of polish turkey sausage cut in semi-circles
3 cups cooked brown rice
1/2 cup broth or water
1 can red kidney beans, drained and rinsed
1 can black beans, drained and rinsed
1 onion chopped
1 bell pepper, chopped (opt)
1 t minced garlic (opt)
a cup or two of leftover cooked cabbage, chopped
1 bay leaf
1/2 t ground sage
1/2 t thyme
1/4 t ground mustard
1/4 t ground cumin
In large fry pan, saute onion, bell pepper (opt), and garlic in a little butter or oil.
Add broth or water, then remaining ingredients and heat through.
*Served here with Broccoli Normandy.
