I know- who would have thought that would work?!?! Prolly just me and my slim-pickin's pantry! :-)
And I must say- it worked quite well!
Saute, until soft-
1 chopped onion in
3 T butter
add-
1 can evaporated milk
3 cups milk
1/2 cup chopped fresh basil
1 1/2 t salt
1/4 cup Parmesan cheese
few twists of cracked pepper
Bring to a low (careful) simmer.
In large measuring cup, whisk-
1 1/2 cups cool water
2T (slightly heaping) cornstarch
Pour into heated mixture, stir until simmering.
Add 2 cans of tuna.
Serve over 1 box whole grain thin spaghetti noodles.
(Whole meal less than $3.)
