Vitamins- college kiddos

COLLEGE TIPS FOR THE FRUGALLY MINDED!::: VITAMINS: look at the Dollar Tree for good deals. Also, Algood Walmart has an area in the pharmacy where discounted items may include vitamins......MILK: consider pricing powdered milk. This may not be the best for drinking, however, it can be perfect for recipes or mixes such as chocolate milk, smoothies, coffee, etc........ CROCKPOT: ask for one as a gift on your B-day. They can be used for lots and lots of food. You can cook a wide variety of goodies in them. Beans, soups, chili, roast, chicken, casseroles, etc. (Write me for recipes or browse this site and the net! Search specifically for "crockpot recipes".) You could get the big ones for around $30 or less and make a pot that would last all week. The inner 'pot' lifts out and can be stored in a fridge and put back in in the morning or at lunch time on low and would be warm by supper!...... WINDOW GARDEN: and you could do this all year long. Browse the net or library for details on how to do this, or just wing it! I have been shocked at what some folks can grow in their windows. I have aloe in my window but have previously kept herbs growing. We have also sprouted wheat (wheat grass) for salads. Sprouting is a nutritious way of adding to your salads and soups, for pennies. Read up on what seeds can be sprouted. It's very easy too!
