He's covered in seasonings and spices and surrounded by broth and veggies.
I bought this little 'natural' chick for $4! What a blessing!
He fed ALL of us and had about 1.5 cups of leftover meat. The bones were then tossed in a pot for a nice broth for another day.
The mac and cheese was made from leftover whole wheat pasta, whole milk, butter, and shredded cheddar cheese.
A super frugal meal since the chicken was so cheap and the broccoli was free, the mac was leftovers, and the potatoes may have cost .50 !

For a 4 to 5lb chicken, you can usually have them done in 1 1/2 to 2 hours, at 375.
Just clean, season how you like, tuck into large baking pot.
I usually toss in veggies like you would with a roast; potatoes, carrots, celery, onions, etc. or whatever you have on hand. Add water, no more than half to 2/3, as the chicken will lose some moisture and fat. Easy peasy!
