He's covered in seasonings and spices and surrounded by broth and veggies.
I bought this little 'natural' chick for $4! What a blessing!
He fed ALL of us and had about 1.5 cups of leftover meat. The bones were then tossed in a pot for a nice broth for another day.
The mac and cheese was made from leftover whole wheat pasta, whole milk, butter, and shredded cheddar cheese.A super frugal meal since the chicken was so cheap and the broccoli was free, the mac was leftovers, and the potatoes may have cost .50 !

For a 4 to 5lb chicken, you can usually have them done in 1 1/2 to 2 hours, at 375.
Just clean, season how you like, tuck into large baking pot.
I usually toss in veggies like you would with a roast; potatoes, carrots, celery, onions, etc. or whatever you have on hand. Add water, no more than half to 2/3, as the chicken will lose some moisture and fat. Easy peasy!
