Old Fashioned Vinegar Pie

1 c sugar
1/2 c flour
1/4 t salt
1 1/4c boiling water
1/4 c vinegar
1 T butter
2 T lemon juice
3 egg yolks (save the whites)

Mix sugar, flour, salt, and vinegar and stir in boiling water. Beat egg yolks and stir a little hot mixture into them. Add lemon and butter. Cook until smooth and thick, stirring constantly. Cool. Pour into cooled, baked pie crust. Beat egg whites, add 3 T sugar and beat until it stands in peaks. Spread on pie and bake at 350 for approx 15 minutes.
