Homemade Baked Donuts...

I found a great new recipe for these the other day! They are really good, even the next day if stored air-tight!
I found the recipe HERE, just in case you can't resist!

I glazed them with a half can of evaporated milk blended with about 3 cups of powdered sugar and about 1 t vanilla.
I shook the holes in a bag of sugar, cinnamon, and a dash of nutmeg.

I've been wanting to try baked donuts forever! I even went out and bought one of those donut cutter thingy's but have yet to use it. This recipe look way yummy and MUCH easier than the one I was going to use. Thanks for the post! And thanks for the tip about the carrot greens too. I had no idea!

Oh! And you can go to localharvest.com and type in your zip code and it will tell you if there are any CSA's in your area. :)

Baked donuts would be good--less oil to use up and less oil to EAT :)

I tried a donut recipe the other day that I was so excited to try. It was a tasty batter, but it was just that--a batter. I couldn't cut them. I still want to try making homemade donuts again; I will check out this recipe!

Brandy,
I've made several baked donuts and these are the best that I've come across! The dough is very very soft, and you will want to keep flour to a minimum and kneading to a minimum. But they are light and soft and yippeee!- no fry oil!

I try to limit frying!
These would have looked better if I had a donut cutter but I used a big cup and a little bitty medicine/measuring cup! ;-)
