Wow. That's alot of potatoes. And carrots. And apples. And chicken. ETC. I can't wait to see what you do with it all. I have 20 pounds of potatoes that I need inspiration for.
Wow! That's some serious poundage! I bought 16 lbs of meat this week and thought that was going to last us forever. but 40lbs!! And all the potatoes and carrots. Out of curiosity, can you freeze them or do you have to use them all right away? Angela
Angela, I froze the chicken right away after dividing it all up. I usually cook a bunch up and then freeze it but I didn't have time this time.
My potatoes will likely be used up in the next 3 to 4 weeks and will be fine if kept from sunlight. The carrots, oh boy the carrots! We can use almost 2 lbs a day. I can cook one pound or the kids will eat them cut into sticks with dip- and I will juice another pound day.
With 6 kids- 5 boys-( 3 of which are bigger than me)- it won't be hard to use them up! ;-)
