Scorched Pot? Not!

There are several things you can do to save your pot.

Yes, you can dump, scrape, and reheat with some water.

Now- past that-
You can sprinkle some baking soda in the bottom then splash some vinegar and allow it to sit for several minutes and then scrub.

If there's more left, my favorite solution?????
-salt

As a teenager, I worked at a store that had a deli. Sometimes the coffee pots would get burned. To clean them, we would sprinkle in salt and several cubes of ice and swirl them. It worked every time!

For your pots, a coarse grain salt and sponge will usually do the trick! (But scrape the worst off with a spoon or knife first.)

Thanks for the tip about the salt and the ice cubes. I usually use baking soda with or without boiling water for scorched pans, and barely dampened soda for tea/coffee stains in cups and pots. Then once when I was out of soda, I tried a little salt to remove the tea stains and it worked.

Good tip.

I have never heard of using salt to clean a pot. I guess I will have to burn dinner tomorrow so I can test it out :) Thanks for sharing!
