Maple-Nut Oatmeal Cookies

I am presently having to shoo the kiddies away from these so they will eat at mealtime!
I honestly can't determine which is better- the smell - or the taste!

Stir together:
1/3 cup melted butter
1/2 cup brown sugar
1/4 cup real maple syrup (or more brown sugar)
1/4 cup molasses
3/4 t maple flavoring
2 eggs

Stir in;
1/4 t salt
3/4 t baking powder
1/2 t baking soda
2 cups rolled oats
1 1/4 cup whole wheat flour
1 cup pecan (or other nut) pieces

Drop by spoonfuls onto lightly buttered baking sheet.
Bake at 350 for approx. 9 to 12 minutes.
Cool 2 minutes on pan before removing to baker's rack.
Allow to cool.

Tips: To keep this cookie more frugal, you could use all brown sugar, omit the nuts, or add raisins etc.

Thank you Connie!
One of my littles just told his older brother; "If you're going in there for a cookie break- get me one!"

We are just back from spending time in Knoxville where we got spoiled by the grandparents. A few days without cooking did me good! Today I am back in the kitchen and I am going to give this recipe a try.

Arden, you were just a little while away from me! Glad you got a break from the stove- nothing like grandma's cooking anyway, I bet!
Hope you love these cookies as much as we do ;-)
