CHILI TACOS- frugal lunch

This meal is simple, cheap, and easy!

For the 'chili' filling for the tacos:
1 1/2 pounds ground beef
1 medium onion chopped
1 can of chili beans
1 (6 oz.) can tomato paste
1 t chili powder
1/2 t ground cumin
1 t garlic powder
1/2 t onion salt
dash of basil (opt)
3/4 cup water
DIRECTIONS:
Brown ground beef with onions, drain. Add canned chili beans and spices, stir.
Add paste and water, stir until hot. Turn off heat and cover and allow spices to blend.

Cook taco shells according to package, stuff with chili mixture and top with cheese.

Served here with corn tortillas, simply sliced with a pizza cutter and salted, then toasted.

Brown rice with taco sauce and re-fried beans topped with Colby and monterey cheese cubes.
