FRUGAL NOODLE


1 1/2 pounds of ground beef
1 large onion chopped
1 cup of carrots, sliced
1 cup of sliced celery
1 pkg onion soup mix
1 t marjoram
6 oz (half a bag) egg noodles
1 can (4 oz) mushrooms, drained or 3/4 fresh, sliced
freshly ground pepper and salt to taste
4 cups water

Brown beef and onions, drain. Add carrots, celery, mushrooms, onion soup mix, marjoram, and salt and pepper. Pour in 4 cups water. Cook 15 minutes and add noodles and cook for approx 10 more minutes until are done.

*Served here with green beans and corn.

****Many variations could be done with this recipe. Seasonings could be Italian or Mexican. Veggies could be changed; take out mushrooms and add peas or tomatoes. Different noodles could be used as well. A very inexpensive dish to be creative with!
