Yum. I love custard pies so I imagine I would love this. Do you have a good pie crust recipe?
This one is in most of my cookbooks, however, I'm trying to avoid shortening. *The last time I made it, I used half butter and half homemade beef tallow (or you could use lard).
2 C flour
1 C shortening*
1/2 C ice cold water
1/2 t salt
Sprinkle the salt into the flour, cut in the fat, add water gradually until you have a workable dough. Makes 2.
