2/3 cup sugar
3 T cornstarch
dash salt
4 cups milk
2 eggs
1/2 t vanilla
5 Ghirardelli dark chocolate squares*
Pour all but 1 cup milk into sauce-pot, heat on low.
To the remaining cup of milk, beat in cornstarch, sugar, dash of salt, and eggs.
Add to saucepan. Continue heating on low-medium heat, whisking. Once mixture
thickens and begins to bubble, heat one more minute. Remove from heat. Add vanilla
and chocolate and stir until chocolate has melted. Serve warm or chill. (* I used 60% cacao
but I prefer darker!)
