Menu: March 17, 2012

 Welcome to Menu Plan Monday!

My frugal tip of the week: Shopping once-a-month and keeping some food storage is going to allow me to do some special things this week. Having food on hand allows you to be ready in a moments notice when the Lord gives you little opportunities here and there for various things. See Thursday for details!

-Peanut Butter Granola and milk
-Taco Salad, Mud Balls
-leftover Homemade Pizza, Vanilla Pudding (colored green and topped with green sugar St.P's Day)
snacks: popcorn
-Turkey Bacon Cups, green peas, sliced cukes, spinach salad
-Grilled Chicken Quarters, greens beans, corn, Homemade Ice Cream
snacks:Cream Cheese Brownies
-Coconut Rice
-Soft Tacos, salsa and chips
-Hamburger Steak, oven fries, baby carrots and dip
snacks:Maple-Pecan Muffin Cakes
-fried eggs, toasted Homemade Wheat Bread
-Creamy Chicken Enchiladas,beans and rice
-Beans, greens, corn, cornbread
snacks:Grandpa's Oatmeal Muffins
-Omelet, toasted Homemade Wheat Bread
-Beans and cornbread with fermented kraut
-Taco Casserole, salad, spicy beans
snacks:Peanut Butter Pudding
This is going to be an eventful day! The Lord willing (and providing) me and the children will pack up and drive down to see my oldest son to deliver some paperwork to him. If the Lord allows, I will get to make camp at his place (that's gonna be a hoot with all his siblings).
I plan on having a little fun at his place and taking:
Spritz Cookies
a couple of gallons of homemade chili or hamburger soup
(I will freeze leftovers for him and his roommates to eat later.)
several boxes of crackers
shredded cheese
and I might take the ice cream machine!
From my food storage to take for them later:
spaghetti sauce
A frozen homemade dish for them to freeze and heat later.
Cranberry-Almond Granola
canned tuna
canned chicken
canned fruit
canned soups
almond butter
homemade Strawberry Jam
graham crackers
rolled oats
maybe some freezer items IF possible

You've inspired me to get back menu planning and shopping the way I did years makes so much sense! Thanks for the reminder!

I often wonder if I will stop when all of my kids are grown- but I don't think I could do it any other way now :) Thank you for posting!
