It's gonna be a crazy week for me- how 'bout you girls? Monday, I have to take my new driver to the insurance company to turn in a record of his driving trips -for a discount on his car insurance! (Got state farm? Check into their discount programs if you have a new driver!)
We must go vote on Tuesday! I always take the kiddies and make them part of this process and show them how it's done. I want them to understand, what a privilege it is to have the opportunity to vote!
And, it's also time for my Once-a-Month-Shopping-Trip! I haven't even started on my list but I went to the store and picked up just enough to tide me over for a few more days so I can make lists, clean out the fridge, and look at the sale papers! (and to get my coupons in order! :-)
SUNDAY: sausage and biscuits*steak stew and cornbread* 3Cheese Beefy Noodle Bake, sweet potatoes, corn
MONDAY: *kid's choice * salmon loaf, potatoes, peas and carrots* turkey polish sausage skillet dish (similar to what they serve at Dollywood)* snacks: cocoa zucchini muffins
TUESDAY: buttermilk waffles * Beef,barley-n-lentil Stew cornbread muffins* fried chicken strips and potato wedges *snacks: fresh applesauce (made with free apples!)
WEDNESDAY: soaked oatmeal * Meatza pie baked acorn squash Oatmeal Yogurt-fruity Muffins *Cheesy chicken noodles and broccoli* snacks: cranberry bread
THURSDAY:Sausage and biscuits with pear sauce *Beef-icelli, corn, steamed broccoli* Beef and Liver Meatballs, spaghetti squash, green beans* snacks: popcorn, fresh applesauce
FRIDAY: cinnamon rolls, boiled eggs, pearsauce *chili cups, baked potatoes, carrots * salmon, brown rice, steamed veggies *snacks: Bubble-yum Berry smoothie *snacks: baked apples, popcorn

We also soak our rolled oats, but not overnight. I just toss them in the water first thing in the morning. I heard, but can't prove that soaking used to be included in the package directions. Have you heard this?

No, I haven't heard that BUT I checked out an old Jewish cookbook from the library and soaking and all those other cool ideas from Sally Fallon are in that book!:-)
