Menu Plan: Jan. 26, 2013

 Welcome to Menu Plan Monday!

-grapefruit halves, cup of yogurt and Cranberry-Almond Granola
-Mexican Pasta and Kale Stew, seeded rolls
snacks:peanut butter and banana, puffed amaranth
frugal notes: Grapefruits were 2.99 for 7, beef for stew was bought on sale months ago at 1.89, 2 bundles of kale have lasted me 3 1/2 weeks, amaranth was a gift
-Homemade Yogurt with Cranberry-Almond Granola
-Lima-Burger Soup, Crusty White Bread
-Spaghetti w/ homemade Sauce
snacks: frozen berry-banana smoothies
frugal notes: I make yogurt with milk bought at 2.79 a gallon, oats were bought in bulk from Cash-Carry, meat for soup was bought months ago at 1.89 for soup and for spaghetti sauce- I only use pound per 2 to 3 batches (homemade), frozen fruit was bought on sale in summer; 5lbs can last me for months using only a cup here and there in smoothies
-Popcorn w/ sugar and milk
-Split Pea Soup, cornbread
-Roasted Chicken w/ potatoes and carrots, brown rice w/ chicken gravy
snacks:fried apples, Peanut Butter Granola Bites
frugal notes: popcorn was bought in bulk at Sam's, the chicken was bought on sale months ago, apples were bought in bulk for .88lb, potatoes were .16 per pound, carrots were under .50 per pound, meat for soup was .99, oats were bought in bulk from Cash-n-Carry
-Toasted Spelt Bread w/ fried eggs, pomegranate jelly
-Beef and Cabbage Stew, Twisted Garlic Bread Sticks
-Pinto Beans, cornbread, fried potatoes
snacks: Crispy Triple Chocolate Peanut Butter Truffles, cheese and crackers
frugal notes: eggs are .99 doz, I made 4 1/2 pints of the jelly with $2 worth of pomegranates, beef was bought months ago at 1.89 cabbage was .33lb, beans were bought in bulk, potatoes .16lb, cheese was bought on clearance at Kroger, crackers were bought months ago at .79 per box
-Cream of Cheese and Vegetable Soup, Kamut Bread
-Mexican Chicken Dish, hot and spicy sweet potato fries
snacks:Apple Cinnamon Raisin Baked Pancake, Chili-Spiced Almonds
frugal notes: millet was given to me, cheese was on clearance at Kroger, chicken was from whole chickens at .79 per pound, apples were .88 lb, almonds were bought when on sale at $4 per lb
-Oatmeal Pancakes w/ homemade syrup
-Potato Soup, Yogurt Rye Bread
-Simple Hash, peas and carrots, slaw
snacks:Chocolate-Carob Custard, Quick Pretzels
frugal notes: flour and oats bought in bulk, potatoes at .16lb, onions at .49 pound, yogurt is homemade at 2.79 per gallon, cabbage at .33lb, eggs at .99 doz
-Scrambled Eggs and Applesauce
-Bologna Cups, fried apples, 10 grain cereal
-Cheeseburger Pizza Pie, celery sticks
snacks:Chocolate Granola and yogurt, cheese chunks and apples
frugal notes: eggs bought at .99 doz, bologna at .79lb, apples at .88, 10 grain mix was given to me, meat was bought months ago at 1.89 lb, celery is $2+ for 3, yogurt is made for 2.79 a gallon, apples .88lb
