Menu: Sept. 15, 2012

Welcome to Menu Plan Monday!

Frugal tip of the week: Buy meat once-a-month when it runs on sale. (This is usually within the first week of the month.) Check out my Facebook for what I bought for the month for right under $100. (Feeding 7 right now; 3 are teen boys.)

SATURDAY:
-scrambled eggs, leftover sausage gravy, toast, jelly
-PB and J sandwiches, romaine salad with peppers and tomatoes from the garden, grapes
-Boston Butt Roast, Hard Rolls, swiss chard from the garden, mapled carrots
snacks:apples and nut butter, nuts
SUNDAY:
-Cranberry-Almond Granola and milk
-Monkey Meat from leftover pork, romaine salad with peppers and tomatoes from the garden, grapes
-Grilled Cheese and Turkey Sandwiches, Vanilla Kefir Muffins
snacks:carrot and celery sticks w/ fermented bean paste
MONDAY:
-English Muffins w/ eggs
-Peanut Butter and Banana Sandwiches, sliced apples, leftover muffins
-Lil Roasted Chickens w/ potatoes and carrots, Wheat Rolls
snacks: Protein Muffins, English Muffins w/butter and jelly
TUESDAY:
-Chocolate Oatmeal
-Basil-Mayo Chicken Wraps, grapes
-Chicken Joes on Kaiser Rolls, salad w/ tomatoes, banana peppers, and petals from the garden
snacks:Fried Bananas, granola and milk
WEDNESDAY:
-Peanut Butter Granola and milk
-Herbed Pepperoni Stew, Bread Sticks(sweet and savory)
-White Beans, cornbread, fried potatoes, kale greens from the garden
snacks:Frozen Fruit Smoothies, popcorn
THURSDAY:
-Fried Eggs, toasted breakfast bread
-Navy Soup, Spelt Rolls
-Grilled Chicken Legs, white beans, potato wedges
snacks:boiled eggs and mustard
FRIDAY:
-Chocolate Granola (recipe coming) with milk
-Leek and Potato Soup, cornbread muffins, honey-butter
-MeatLoaf, mashed potatoes, green peas
snacks:fudgesicles, chili-cheese popcorn

I wonder if your sons realize that once they leave the nest, they will probaboly never get food this good again! Your daughter will probably carry on the tradition of good cooking.

How sweet of you to consider that!

I did warm them when I re-told a story to them from Focus on the Family about a young man who assumed his new bride was going to cook breakfast "like mama" and how much hot water that statement got him into- and not to expect such when they got married ;-)

I should add that the oldest has called me from the military asking for help on HOW to eat to keep from being so sick :)
