WELCOME TO MENU PLAN MONDAY!
Frugal Chat:
Last week, I made a huge pot of beans on Sunday night. We ate some from of beans everyday until they were gone.
This week, I will be going once-a-month-shopping and be picking up all the frugal veggies. (Potatoes, cabbage, carrots, celery, and onions.)
Looking back through my menu, I've noticed that for most days, I will be feeding my family for about $5 a day!
(None of the days go above $10!)
Saturday:
-Eggs, grits, and applesauce
-Chili made from leftover pinto beans topped with cheese, saltines, Homemade Spelt Graham Crackers
-Turnips and greens from the garden, Turkey Polish Sausage Skillet Dish and onions and leeks from the garden, leftover graham crackers
snacks:Graham Crackers and milk, Toasted Breakfast Bread w/ homemade Watermelon Jelly
Sunday:
-Buttermilk Biscuits w/ scrambled eggs and Homemade Sunflower Jelly
-leftover Chili over oven potatoes with cheese, Fruit Crisp
-Spaghetti w/ Homemade Sauce, celery and carrot sticks, jello
snacks:Toasted English Muffins with jelly, sliced oranges
Monday:
-Buttermilk Biscuits and sausage gravy w/ sliced oranges
-Hamburger Soup, half wheat Amish Bread with Homemade Marigold Jelly
-Simple Hash, homemade Cole Slaw, Maple Glazed Carrots
snacks:Chocolate Cheesecake Balls, celery sticks and dip
Tuesday:
-Masa Porridge
-Beef, Barley, and Lentil Stew, Quick and Easy Biscuit Rolls, homemade jelly
-Mexi Chicken Dish, butter-grilled corn tortillas (honey- for leftover tortillas as a dessert)
snacks:Quick Pretzels w/ mustard, apples w/ peanut butter
Wednesday:
-Fried Eggs, Toasted Breakfast Bread w/ butter and jelly
-Wintry Tomato Soup, Cottage Cheese Dinner Rolls, Homemade Sunflower Jelly
-Sausage Pilau, leftover Cole Slaw, turnip greens from the garden
snacks:Homemade Yogurt topped with Chocolate Granola, sliced apples and cheese cubes
Thursday:
-Vanilla-Cinnamon Quinoa Pudding
-Beef-n-Cabbage Stew, Rustic Refrigerator Spelt Rolls, homemade honey-butter
-Home on the Ranch (one dish meal), Rustic Refrigerator Spelt Rolls
snacks:Lemon-Berry Crepes, English Muffins w/ butter and honey
Friday:
-Chocolate Oatmeal
-Baked Eggs in Toast Cups, Supreme Salad, Cinnamon Applesauce (Gelatin) Salad
-Homemade Pizza, salad, lemonade
snacks: Crunchy Peanut Butter Balls ,bologna and cheese roll ups w/ mustard
