Menu: March 31, 2012

Welcome to Menu Plan Monday!

Frugal Tip of the Week: When you shop once-a-month, sometimes you run a little low towards the end of the cycle on fresh fruits and veggies. When that happens; cook beans, use grains, dig deep in the freezers, and use those canned and home-canned goods.

SATURDAY:
-Lemon-Poppy Seed Oatmeal
-Fried Chicken Liver, oven fries, 4-Berry Crisp (like this but with mixed berries)
-Shredded Chicken Sandwiches, celery sticks
snacks: leftover Pudding Pops
SUNDAY:
-Homemade Whole Wheat Waffles from the freezer
-Chicken Joes on Kaiser Rolls
-Grilled Chicken Thighs w/ Emeril's Seasoning, lima beans, seasoned rice
snacks: celery sticks w/ dip, Half Wheat Chocolate Chip Cookies
MONDAY:
-Whole Wheat Waffles w/ homemade Grape Jelly
-Mexi-Chicken Dish,tortilla chips, Spanish Rice
-Homemade Chili w/ crackers
snacks:Quinoa Vanilla Pudding
TUESDAY:
-Toasted Whole Wheat Bread, Scrambled Omelets
-leftover Homemade Chili
-Creamy Chicken Enchiladas, pinto beans from the freezer w/ a dab of salsa
snacks: Frozen Fruit Slushie, Maple-Nut Oatmeal Cookies
WEDNESDAY:
-Oatmeal
-Mock-Bisquick Taco Pizza Bake, steamed broccoli
-Tangy Baked Whiting, brussel sprouts, seasoned rice
snacks:Devil's Food Cookies, Popcorn
THURSDAY:
-Homemade Waffles from the freezer w/grape 'syrup' (heated, thinned jelly)
-Homemade Ham Salad Spread (leftover from freezer)on Whole Wheat Bread, carrot sticks
-Taco Casserole, pinto beans, buttered turnips from the freezer
snacks:Smoothies, canned pineapple
FRIDAY:
-Buttermilk Biscuits, Turkey Bacon, Fried Eggs
-Minestrone Soup, Focaccia
-Cheeseburger Pizza Pie, Chocolate Pudding
snacks:Frozen Pudding Pops, popcorn

Wow, lots of wonderful menu ideas, Donna! Buttered turnips from the freezer...can't seem to find them here in AZ, whole or frozen! Sure do love them! I also like parsnips, and can't seem to find them here either.

I imagine some of those are hard to find out there! I grow them in my gardens and freeze til I can grow more :) Thank you 4 visiting and Happy Menu Plan Monday!
